The question is... we have the same conditioning coach.... what happened ? A couple of things as I see it. In the fall camp, Saban NEVER used full two-a-days. We never used up the number of allowed practices. We always had 6 or 7 fewer practices than everyone else in fall. Saban believed that by doing so the team kept their legs, we had fewer injuries, and were better conditioned as the season wore on. Even when we did practice, Saban usually didn't go ALL OUT in practice. We won many a game due to wearing out the opponent. Miles is the opposite. Full two-a-days, and ALL OUT ALL THE TIME. I think after watching just about the whole defense fall apart cramping in the 3rd quarter last night, that we can tell which approach seems to work best.
