You may disagree with me, but here's my take on Russell.

He has the talent to be a great QB, but I just don't think he's very smart. I think we've seen all we can get out of Russell this past year. He's not a good field general, and thats what this team needs. Russell can't rely on his talent to win games at this level, like he may have did in High School.

If Flynn plays well in the Miami game, we're in for an exciting QB race this off-season. Between Perrilloux, Flynn, and Russell.

P.S. I believe that by this time next year, we'll have a Perrilloux sighting.

I think you're wrong. I think JR showed much improvement between his Freshman year and this season. I think he'll continue to improve as he looks very comfortable out there. I'm curious as to why you think he's not smart. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to master a Division I offense from the QB position? He's no dummy, believe me.

I've written a few articles for them, none that have involved players. The only articles I've written are previews of the Peach Bowl and SECCG. Your statement makes no sense....

I respect your opinion. Russell just doesn't seem to have the brains IMO. I mean look at Mauck, he didn't have the strongest arm but he was smart.

I think Russell made a HUGE improvement from his Freshman to Sophomore year, I just don't think he'll get much better than he is now.

He zeros in on one receiver constantly, and is late on his throws a lot. I think if he can improve on that aspect he could be better, but I just don't see it.

By that I meant he's not a good field general and leader, like Mauck was.

That's what I'm screamin'. You can say he's not smart all you want to, but what evidence do you have? He zeroes in on one receiver? For one thing, that's a trait due to inexperience, not stupidity. For another, that is a false label that has been attached to him by too many people. As the season wore on, he was much more likely to scan the field, provided he had the time which he often did not. I want to know exactly what makes you think he's not smart? Time makes memories fade, but, believe me, Mauck had a few bonehead plays in his time.

Same response to that too, elaborate please

Easiest response I have is: How many comeback victories has Russell led LSU to?
