I know everything seems to pointing to him leaving, but if the reports are true that his wife and kids want to stay, I have a feeling he will stay at LSU. I sincerely hope so... I love any football, but I am 500 times more of a college fan than pro... Saban is a good guy, and after the excitement dies of being courted, I think he might go with what is best for his family (money aside). Most Iowa fans believe we will lose Ferentz to the NFL some day... His wife has made it publicly clear that she loves rasining the family in Iowa City... Most think Ferentz might try the NFL after his youngest graduates HS (2012). Good luck on everything. Some Iowa fans probably secretly are hoping this is a distraction for LSU before the bowl... I am not one of them. I wish there was more focus on what should be a fantastic game between two programs that have never met before....
thank you and boy do I agree and wish more focus was on this game coming up, it seems its like forgotten with all of this garbage going on around us. :dis:
Thanks, FloridaHawk82. We hope you're right. We all can't wait for this "Saban to the NFL" stuff to be over and a decision to be made so that we can all start the healing process (whether it's a healing to cope with the loss, or a healing to cope with another Dec. of worrying but finally relief) and FINALLY start Capital One Bowl discussions. This place is REALLY fun when everyone is focused on the game at hand and not distracted. Until then, welcome! and feel free to keep posting. Sooner or later, we'll get around to chatting a bit more. :geaux:
Yes, that would suck... About a 0% chance we lose Ferentz to another college program... He turned down Notre Dame (like most everyone else). The NFL is where we might someday lose him to... The only team that always scares us a bit is Penn State, as Ferentz is a PA native... Luckily it is widely known that JoePa has been grooming his successor from inside the program. I think Saban will stay, but if not, Petrino at Louisville would be fantastic at LSU. Can you imagine your defense combined with Petrino's wide-open offensive philosophy? yikes.
I couldn't agree more, but Ferentz wouldn't leave for ANY college program, very much like Saban... I still stand by my original post that I think Saban stays... I hope I am right, for your sake, and for the good of college football...
