LOL... Hey Bengal B, hopefully the secret service is not monitoring you as we speak for this letter you sent to Dubbya..that would suck.
I can't say any state "doesn't care", but I can say that most don't care as much about politics as Louisianians do. If you say "baseball is a retarded sport", Yes, definitely you are saying those who play, have ever played, coached, or been a fan of baseball are retarded because those people are part of the sport. That's exactly what you are saying. I understand it is your opinion, but if you are going to offer flames like that, you must be prepared for those who are going to counter and you must be prepared to back up your claims. Remember, this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion...and in this case, I don't like yours....even if it IS an "opinion about Louisiana politics is shared by quite a few people." You stated your opinion, I stated mine. Just because it's popular doesn't make it right.
One Man's opinion ... The best thing for college football would be to invite them both on the same day. While writers and fans bicker about who is the "real" number 1 team, it seems like most of the players on both teams have shown the most class in accepting the "Co-Champion" status accorded them. I think a unified pic of the LSU players on the President's right and the USC players on the President's left would sit well with all the players and might shut up the so-called experts on both sides of the issue. A show of solidarity and lack of greed and ego by fine young men on both sides at a time when other fine young men and women are on the other side of the world representing our country in the real battle of our times. Only an a-hole could find fault with that scenario, when one puts things in perspective.
Not to take away from the excited political debate going on but... Does anyone remember when Bush flew to Iraq for Thanksgiving, met the GI from Louisiana, took a picture with him, and said "How about those Tigers?" (I'm positive we've got a thread about it, just not in the mood to look ) Anyway, I'm pretty positive that was right before Arky game (on turkey day) - we were surging post-Ole Miss, but still on the bubble. Based on that exchange, one would think the President is a college football fan, right? Until it officially doesn't happen, I wouldn't count out the fact that the Tigers will be invited to the White House if USC is. Speaking of that - I'd LOVE to see the president's take on the whole situation. I guess we just have to wait for someone to ask him the question in public.
Good question. It kinda got lost in the shuffle! Bengal B can you post a link to your source of this information? Thanks! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
