This will be the last thread I start tonight. I just want to get my comments out their. 1. Charles Scott, Toliver and Richard Dickson are players. They are really the only player that stood out to me tonight. Why Scott didnt get in over a injured Hester, I dont know, but it was a horrible decision. I really hope Dickson gets more balls thrown his way because he is the only player who is consistent. 2. Defensive scheme tonight was pretty bad. Woodson, like Flynn, does bad under pressure. We didnt blitz that much and we had one blitz that actually worked. Ever since the half time at the Tulane game Pelini has not been doing well. 3. I thought our new WR coach Dj McCarthy would do well pretty good. I am obviously wrong. Yes Doucet is out, but we should have more than one WR that can consistently catch the ball. 4. Flynn is bad under pressure. Even the smallest amounts of pressure caused him to make bad throws tonight. He also stares down one reciever instead of scanning the field. 5. Why were we running in triple overtime? I realize that we hadnt been doing great passing, but you cant play to lose. Also, why was a walk on WR in over a guy like Demetrius Byrd? Surely McManus isnt better than Byrd. 6. I adressed this in #1 but I want to talk about it again. Why did an injured Hester get in over Scott or Williams? Scott was ON A ROLL, and we would have likely won if he had kept running with him in the second half. 7. Why can we not come out and do well right away? We have done that once this season, against VT. We always seem to be sleep walking in the 1st half.
I think the Tigers are so loaded with talent that sometimes the coaching staff out think themselves. one drive seems to have chemistry while the next drive looks horrible. On the other hand too much talent is not a bad problem to have. I believe the tigers will pull it together and finish strong. (If they did not get too banged up today..........Wildcats played very hard! They layed some lumber on that field.)
I agree on all of your points. I do like the fact that CLM is favoring the seniors and the time that they have put into the program but, should this agenda be placed over the run to the SEC and possible NCG. When you have players hurt, they will obviously want to be in the game competing with their fellow warriors. But, it is a coaches job to see when they are not at 100 percent. It was obvious JH wasn't nearly 100 percent. I have always been impressed with his YAC and tonight, he didn't perform as well. I know it was b/c of an injury but, CLM and CGC should have seen this and made the proper adjustments.
