Must pay you guys a compliment

    I surf around the web on rivals sites a good bit. I like to see what the natives are saying about their team and about us. Not only does this board have a nice, easy to read and use format, but your moderators are great.

    I say this because in visiting other sites, I don't see the same level of leeway given to people to have a little fun. You can come over here, pick at you guys some, get yelled back at, and unless you're just vulgar or something, the worst that happens is it gets moved to the Smack forum. We try to employ the same philosophy over at AUNation (WarEagleNation to some of you oldtimers). Other sites won't hardly let a rival speak unless he genuflects at their every whim and never defends his own team. They start deleting and banning like they get paid by the quantity and it's boring. There are a couple of Auburn sites that do the same thing. I hate it.

    I even saw an Auburn fan recently tell a Bama board that they needed to lighten up and learn from AUNation and you guys how to properly run a message board.

    Just thought I'd let you know about that. Looking forward to a clash of the titans later this year.

    I must say . .I agree . .you guys have a fantastic admin in Brett and a great board alltogether. .

    The only reason I tolerate you yahoo's is because of how well this board is run . . ....(that was a joke) . .

    I also surf around other SEC boards and I know what you mean. Fortunately there are usually three to five free boards for each SEC team and you have to lurk to see which ones are fun and uncensored, yet don't let true smack get out of hand. War Eagle Nation is pretty good, except for a few goobers with corndogs on their brains. Of course, we have a couple of "tough-on-visitors" posters that need to be locked up in the basement, too.

    Tidefans.com is also very good to visitors. But you can forget TiderInsider or AUforums.com, they bash any visitor who doesn't kiss their ass.

    I don't have a problem with good-natured ribbing from a normally polite visitor, as long as they can take the same. That ain't smack.

    Being civil to the enemy is always a good strategy....

    Remember the saying "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".

    I enjoy rival posters, it wouldn't be as much fun if all we had here was an LSU love-fest.

    I dont mind talking smack here, but there is no way i can watch an LSU game with someone pulling for the other team they are playing. When i am watching the LSU games i want people pulling for them around me. I get too excited and would end up getting in too many fights or losing friends.. I take my LSU football very seriously. Since i know that about myself i try to stay away from situations that can get me in trouble.

    I hate to lose and i love the tigers too much to hear them bashed.
