We have a group coming to New Orleans on 12/31. Other than drinking on Bourban St what are some activities that we should do while in the Big Easy?

Some people like to see the baby drop by Jax Brewery. A N.O. version of the ball drop in N.Y.

Gotta hit Galatoires or K Paul's if you got the jack. Check out a voodoo tour, get some "ban-yeas", check out the river and just eat and enjoy!!

If you have never been to The NO, you gotta hang out on Bourbon, you wont have fun at most of the uptown places, because its like a bunch of new orleans people that all know each other. you want a wild and crazy time amongst sooner and tiger fans alike, stay on bourbon. there are plenty of places to drink and party your money away. trust me

There's all kinds of things you can do, but realistically you'll spend most of your time drinking, watching bowl games, and gambling over at Harrah's. Kind of nice to have a sports book in a casino in the same city as a Nat'l Championship isn't it?

Other than that just take in the food. Tons of good restaurants all over the place and i'm sure many of the posters here could compile a list of a months worth of restaurants to hit. I'd personally recommend Liuzzas for some hangover food and a little hair of the dog.

K Paul's is good. But whatever you do don't attempt to walk from the French Quarter back to the Garden District at 4 in the morning. That was one of the scariest walks of my life.
