Life kinda bogging down the hunting and fishing stuff with the kids getting older and into so much with sports dance etc. Also sold my old boat motor early in the summer. Ordered a new motor which had a 6 month+ lead time so planned on continuing with the old one until the new one showed up. Stuck the old one for sale for a price I didnt think anyone would pay and in a week someone showed with cash so had to let er go. Really hated to see her go lotta hours spent riding in front of her and memories with the family etc. Old one is a 1998 225 Ocean Pro. 3800 hours and well over 100,000 miles and still runs like a top really shouldnt have sold her but figured was on borrowed time but still I hop her new owner gets many more years out of her with his family. New motor is a 225 Zuke. So big boat has been shut down since start of summer but took that cash and did some upgrading to her. New much bigger gas tank....was 75 gallons now 115 gallons.....full rewire, new lights, pumps, tabs etc. pretty much full overhaul since had some mad money to throw at it. So she is just sitting there now waiting on the new motor to show up. Hopefully that will be in November and they can get it all installed etc while I am off hunting and have her back ready for the spring.

Anyways still getting a little bit of hunting and fishing done. Little turkey hunting back in the spring killed 2 gobblers but only pics of one not sure what happened with the other one swore I took a pic but it aint on the phone so I dont know. Kids got in a good bit of pond fishing here and there and got after the crappie a little bit. Managed a few inshore trips before the motor sold, few floundering nights, and hitched rides with buddies for a few offshore ones. Of course the best time of the year just kicked off the past couple weeks. Gator season was slower that usual but we got one decent one at 9.5ft and a couple nice runts at 6ft 11.5in and 5ft 5in(only 1 can be over 7 ft in MS) and knocked down a 7 man limit of 105 doves Saturday. Extremely happy with how the boys were shooting the doves. 13 year old using my old A5 had no trouble knocking his out the air and my 7 year old got his off the limbs with my old single shot 410. It was hilarious watching him shooting them out the trees and chase down the crippled one. Yea I know it aint "sporting" to shoot a dove off a limb but I dont really care ha. Headed to the camp this weekend get a couple stands hung and do a little camp yard work. Velvet season next weekend and regular bow season 2 weeks after that. Off to the races from then on with bow hunting and youth season right around the corner. Cant wait to get the kids on some more bucks.

little lighter on the pics than in the past but getting after em as much as we can ha.

Cooler weather on the way. Taking its sweet time but it’s coming. Def ready for it. My whole life is outside and these freaking 115+ heat index days are getting old.

well didnt get to go on the velvet hunt weekend. got a call last tuesday that the new motor showed up early to bring the boat monday morning for the install. So had to use the weekend to finish a few things on her and she is at the dealer now getting it put on. also had a great deal on a new simrad go9 that wound up being cheaper than to go with the suzuki gps puck so getting full electronics upgrade too for $200 less than it was going to cost to set it up with the old stuff. Supposed to be ready about Tuesday and I am off the whole first week of october. gonna be a tough call head to the camp to bow hunt and crappie fish or stay here and run the new motor and saltwater fish. I am going to set the big boat up to crappie fish too so can bring all the kids together but thats gonna take some bracket building later one.
