Mountain of Waste at Copenhagen Liveshots Greening CU-Boulder's dorms: Shower timers, smart power strips among plans - Colorado Daily CU may use timers to limit your shower!
haha. The first time i was in antarctica, we were shower rationed to 1 3 min shower every 3 or 4 days (can't remember which.) We were also told to turn off the water when we were washing our hair, shaving, brushing our teeth. Hell we also had outhouses instead of running water at some locations.
Ever notice when you stay in a hotel there is a little card hanging next to the towels asking you to "Save the Environment" by reusing your towels, instead of getting fresh ones. I wonder if the Gore's or the Obama's are going to reuse their towels?
a shower timer cutoff device would last maybe 20 minutes before being smashed by the first student with any good sense.
Can anyone tell me how many tons of carbon dioxide were expelled due to numerous private jets, limos and a lot of pompous people talking for days?
I pretty much always hang my towels which is what you are supposed to do to say "I'll reuse it". If you put it on the floor they are supposed to replace it. Up until this past week in Hawaii, every single hotel I've been in has replaced the towels even if I hang them up. Hawaii was serious. Those dudes turn off everything if you aren't there when they service your room. You come back in the afternoon and your room is like 90 degrees because they cut the AC off while you weren't there.
In our hotel on Maui, if you opened the door, the air conditioner turned off automatically. They are serious over there.
