As if the national championship isnt enough motivation, all ut has to do is turn the tv onto espn and see the segment Is USC '05 better than (insert name here). This is unbelievable to me that they are doing this. Last years USC team was better than this years, not to mention that this years team hasnt won a NC yet. I think that USC is set up perfectly for going down in this game. It seems as if Texas has been completely forgotten over the break. I put my money on them.
If you really think last years SC team is better than this one, then there is no sense arguing... USC almost lost 3-4 games last year to TERRIBLE teams... All of there close calls this year came to really good, quality opponents
Like Fresno State who got their butss handed to them by the likes of Nevada & Louisiana Tech, two other really good, quality opponents?
this years team is not complete bc they have zero defense. yes their offense is probably better, but as a team, last years team was better. plus, last years team won the national champ game by a million points and this years team has yet to prove they can win a national championship, that is the point i was trying to make.
I thought the same thing when they started airing those segments. :dis: Reminds me of '03 when heading into the Conference title games, OU was considered "untouchable" only to get sh*t-kicked by K-State and IMO, to save face with it all, the media didn't drop them far enough in the polls to keep the Sooners out of the National title game.
Well... here it is bro... here is my pitch... USC vs. Common Opponents... 04: Stanford 31-28 +3 Cal 23-17 +6 Wash 38-0 +38 Wash St. 42-12 +30 Zona 49-9 +40 UCLA 29-24 +5 ND 41-10 +31 05 Stanford 51-21.... +30 so 27 Cal 35-10.... +25 so 19 Wash 51-24.. +27 so -11 Wash St. 55-13... +42 so 12 Zona... 42-21 +21 so -19 UCLA... 66-19 +47 so 42 ND 34-31 +3 so -28 So of the 7 common opponents they played, they did 42 points better than they did last year... I will go ahead and say that the ND and Cal games were both on the road this year too... and that the Charlie W. factor hurts SC as well... But for those who say they are one dimensional: they gave us less pts against Stanford, Cal, and UCLA, and gave up the same against Wash St. Trust me... I HATTTTTTTE USC and want them to lose badly, but just b/c I hate them, I am not nieve enough to admit that they are a great team
