Seems to be extremely poor taste, but if they want it, they should get it. I don't believe it will go very far towards the assertions of some muslims that their religion is sensitive and tolerant. Probably will create more problems than it is worth.
Wow.. had your coffee today Amigo? I didn't even expect you would dignify that statement with a response. And for the record, it wasn't a dead-serious post. I know mosques have been engaged, but I also know the enemy seems to think that for some reason they're a good place to hide. Wonder why that is? That said, I think it was a poor choice of locations, considering the circumstances surrounding the area. I really have no say in the matter though.
Noted. I do remember Marines in the Battle of Fallujah saying that they were unabashedly returning fire on mosques that were firing on them. It is proper that we respect mosques to win the hearts and minds, but even the Rags know that using one as a firing position might get it ruled to be a target.
Luckily, I was not fired at from one, but folks have a tendency to think twice once they see the gun tube right over the top of their fence. The irony is the vast majority of those killed in and around mosques were by other muslim suicide bombers. But you are right, Red, in that many realize a mosque is probably not the best place to initiate an attack. However, planning for attacks do take place in them.
The New York CIty muslims doing this don't have the funding to build a new building. That will have to come from donations, mostly from overseas in the middle east. NYC is a big city with plenty of available property. Two blocks from the WTC is insensitive.
i both hate muslims and am really sensitive about wtc related issues and even i cant see how this matters at all.
So, if they are getting donations from overseas, how can we be sure none of the "contributors" are linked to any radicals? To me that would be the ultimate slap in the face to the people who lost loved ones at 9/11, having donations come from islamic radicals.
