Got this off the Vol Board. Zook talks in circles. The translation on Zook's comments is pretty funny. "There are a few things we need to tweak...There's no question in my mind we're on the right track. We had a lot of good plays, but too many bad plays. We have to get rid of those bad plays to be the football team we want to become. I know we're close. We've got a long way to go, but we're close. I know that sounds like I'm contradicting myself, but we've proven we can play the game and play it well." Just a friendly reminder to Vols that things could be worse--much worse. At least Fulmer was able to admit the obvious, that we got whipped Saturday night and that there are things that must be addressed. Here's my translation of this particular Zook quote: "There are some things we need to tweak, but other than losing a bunch of games we're on the right track. We had a bunch of good plays, but also some bad ones...plus there were at least three of four mediocre plays but some plays that we officially graded pretty good as well. I counted at least two plays that we really sucked, but the training staff had one of their best games yet. We are really close to being the team we want to be--a team that wins games--but we are also still a long way from being that type of team. I sound like I'm contradicting myself, but I'm not. I'm just trying to sound like I am so no one will really be sure whether I said anything or not. We're gonna keep looking at the film and getting better, at least when we aren't getting worse. Tigah, A crushing defeat by the Tigers will help, I'm really pulling for the Vandy upset though, that will do it...
I gotta go with SovietG on this. A Vandy loss will be the best thing that could happen to UF. Zook has really hurt that team, and IMO if he isn't ousted by the end of the season UF is going to stay ranked the #4 team in Florida at best. I also wasn't aware that coaches could be required to sign a "contract" to start a college team. Is that legal? (Leach)
