This article http://www.gballmag.com/hero-fowles.html doesn't give claim to it, but lots of folks around the WCBB scene are saying that Sylvia Fowles is a heavy lean to LSU. The biggest competition is Tennessee but Pat is also heavily recruiting two other post players so Sue may have the lock on Sylvia. Fowles is thought to be one of the top post players in the nation.

    Other updates on LSU recruiting:

5'6" point guard Erica White and 6'2" Erlana Larkins are buddies with Fowles and at one time all three were suspected of wanting to play together. If Sue lands these three, WATCH OUT!! Larkins is ranked among the top 10/11 players in the nation and White is top 20. In any other year, these players would probably be top 5!! Can you imagine these three AND Seimone?!? Watch out!!

Other Tiger Targets in the class of 2004:

    LSU is no longer pursuing:

Chante Black, a 6'5" post out of NC verballed to Duke.
Samantha Mahoney, 5'9" shooting guard verballed to Kentucky.
Jade Perry, a 6'3" post out of Kentucky has verballed to Maryland.

LSU is still in the hunt for:
    Matee Ajavon, a top 20 5'9" SG
Morenike Atunrase, a 5'10 SF out of Shreveport
Quianna Chaney , a top 50 PG out of Baton Rouge
    Lesha Jones, 6'3" C top 50
Ashley Thomas , 6' wing out of Georgia

    Probably a few others.

LSU loses the very talented skills of Doneeka Hodges and point guard extrordinaire Tameka Johnson. That leaves:

    *6'5" Sr. post Crystal White
    6'3" Sr. post Tillie Willis
    6'1" Sr. post Florence Williams
    *6'1" Jr. wing/post Seimone Augustus
    5'10" Jr. wing Scholanda Hoston
    6'4" Jr. post Treynell Clavelle
    *6'1" Jr. post Wendolyn Jones
    5'11" So. wing Khalilah Mitchell
    5'9" So. wing Marian Whitfield
    5'6" So. wing Amber Long
    6'1" So. wing/post Hanna Beirnacka

Except for Augustus, whose talent is known, the roster contains losts of question marks. It will be interesting to watch the development of the backcourt frosh (Long, Mitchell, and Whitfield) over the course of the season. If Sue can land, Larkins, Fowles, and Smith, it is likely that those three would receive substancial playing time during their first year.
