I think Pollack's proof is his domination this year and his Player of the Year award last year. :D :D

i'll say it again, if he didn't make the play against the gamecocks, which was a great play, no one but UGA fans would know his name. no awards, no nothing. largely a media fabrication. if you notice all of his press this year is "he hasn't made any plays but it's his presence." that's what they say when they hype a guy up and he doesn't do anything. and don't bring up that pick against clemson. (i was at that game believe it or not). that was a shot in the dark. check out spear's pick against the gators last year (leaping one handed) if you want to see a real badass DE. Spears would eat this kid Pollack.

So...Pollack didn't do anything else last year besides the USC game? Are you kidding me? We would know his name because of the domination in and out almost every game last year. Not because of 1 play. You don't win POY off 1 play.

That domination of the game really paid off aginst UF...You know, the one opponent you guys lost to, and the team we laid a BEATDOWN ON IN THE SWAMP?

    Hmm...

Pollack played a decent game against UF. To put the blame on him would be quite wrong. The offense could never move the ball consistently and the defense was log-jammed by straight-sideline passes. It was a learning experience that helped us against Clemson this year as they tried the same thing.

All I can say is that I'm old enough to have seen (Spurrier's nemesis) Bill Stanfill play at UGA. I haven't seen any defensive lineman at UGA that could wreck an offense any better than David Pollack. No less authority on UGA football than Vince Dooley has commented that Pollack is already up there with the all-time greats.

He may not be a giant in physical stature but he's got more heart and playmaking ability than anyone I've seen in a very very long time. But David doesn't need any hype, he will play with all he's got. It's a given. If I had to bet the house on just one guy, it would be Pollack. Other than Herschel Walker that is.

We may not win the game but count on Pollack making plays. It's actually kind of funny to see "little" Davey take guys over 6'5" 300 lbs and toss them around.
