Reading the quotes of Cal QB, Aaron Rogers, gives me mixed emotions about this kid. On one hand I think he is a cry baby and on the other hand I really like this kid. Here are 2 of his quotes, you be the judge:

His first comment was absolutely stupid, but what do you expect from a Berkley student? He is taking the typical victim role they are so fond of out there. You only need to look at USC to blow that argument out of the water.

His second comment was pretty much right on, as Mack Brown got rewarded for his begging. Voters in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio changed their mind on the last ballot. Cal to me is just as good as any of the undefeated teams this year, and they have turnovers to thank for not beating USC.

Actually, I agree with him on both counts (except the part about USC representing them well). I don't care about or respect West Coast football based on their weak schedules, the media's love-fest with USC, and their sense of entitlement.

Saying that however, I was at the USM game Sat. night and, based on that game alone, I don't think Cal. is the No. 4 team in the nation and Texas would beat them in a head to head contest. If anyone should have gotten left out of the BCS, I think we all agree it should be Pittsburgh.

Great point about Pitt, no doubt they should not be invited this year. They opened at 15 point dogs to Utah of all schools. :dis:

I think Cal's best arguement could come from the fact that the BCS was supposed to do away with "margin of victory", yet because they didn't blow USM out of the water, they got penalized, which, I don't agree with.

I honestly could care less which one of those teams (Cal or Texas), went to the Rose Bowl, but if you're going to say that margin of victory is taken out of the equation, then you need to stick by it.

I watched the Cal/USM game. I thought USM played a very good game. USM is no cupcake. They play teams like 'Bama, Auburn, Nebraska, etc. and have proven that they can hang with them. And on the other hand, I really didn't see Cal having all that bad of a game. It's not like they were fumbling their lives away, or giving up multiple 60+ yard TD plays (like UCLA did vs USC).

Any portion of the BCS formula that either deals with "margin of victory" or in any way mirrors that, should instead be replaced by "points given up". That way, you don't get rewarded for running up the score on some poor team just to make sure you hold on to your .0013 of a point, but you just have to focus on keeping your opponents from putting up more than 20 points.

    ...just my thoughts....

I wonder what his thoughts were last season with PeteC and how he begged for attention. I seem to remember PC being all too happy to call the Rose Bowl the real NC. I don't think Aaron Rogers had a problem with that at all.

He seems to have a problem with Mack getting in the press and talking about it. Now he is in the press whining like a bitch. If he thinks it is classless that Mack Brown did it then he should be above it. Living out here among these idiots can numb you a little to the hypocricy that they love. He thinks it was bad for Brown to do it, but thinks he is just stating his case. It's good or not, can't be both.

I am no Mack Brown fan, but he made a case for his team after getting left out of the BCS several times for lesser teams. Cal may have gotten screwed, but it was screwed by the Utes and the "feel good" voters that supported them. A playoff would be a nice way to eliminate the whole problem.

Margin of Victory was taken out of the computer component only, it cannot be taken out of the minds of the voters. And personally I don't think it should be out of the computer component either, they should just cap it at 25 or 30 I think.

I don't see him as a crybaby for his comments and those calling him a crybaby are most likely the same ones that would come here and say the same exact thing on this message board if LSU was ever in that situation.

His comment about nobody caring about West coast football is somewhat true. Not many people, outside of the Pac 10, care too much for what's going on over there (football wise). Hell, lots of west coasters don't even care about west coast football.
