A great showing and an upset and I think we remove his interim tag. A blowout loss and I think you can forget it, we'll immediately start the process of looking for our next head coach. What say you?
the thing is it's not "settling". He has long been one of the highest-touted assistant coaches. He just stayed at LSU, b/c he knew Brady would eff it up and get canned eventually. lol A lot of people here want Anthony Grant. And that's fine, but Butch is the same man in different skin.
1 game won't determine anything imo. They just want to see that the team is playing hard and enjoy playing for Butch, etc... they're 5-3 (I think) with him. At that clip, we'd have been 10-6 in the SEC in the 1st year without the staple of the program for 3 years, Big Baby. If not better than that, because Butch coached the team through it's 3 toughest conference games (Kent, UF and Tenn). I don't know what more you all want.
"They" want a big name coach befitting their view of LSU as the be all and end all of college athletics.
they havent gone in the tank. theyve done at least as well as brady wouldve done with them. i say keep butch, there's no transition, he probably has the same xs and os after all these years with brady, and he'll probably be a better team manager (which was all that was lacking----ok, and a wonderful charisma, for all you nutjobs.)
I've warmed to Peirre because he has recruited well and has the team playing well. However, here is a name that can be had and he is an excellent recruiter. He has his current team playing very well with a fantastic incoming recruiting class at a weak program and his name should be near the top of our list. Mike Davis at UAB
14-15 15-14 19-12 were his records once Bob Knight's guys at Indiana left the program. No thanks. If you can't win at Indiana of all places, a basketball haven, then no thanks.
