Miles "still sounds shellshocked" as of Friday About Tenn Game http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051001/SPORTS0202/510010380/1028 Excerpt: Doesn't exactly conjure up confident, cocksure images of, say, Knute Rockne firing up the troops, does it? Perhaps he can get a direct line from his wife directly into whichever type of headset he chooses to wear today. All I ask of her is to tell him to give Addai the ball about 100 times today if he continues to average 6.0 ypc...though I'm sure many of you can think of other things, too.
This guy is in way way over his head. God I hope we dont drag this coach out like Brady and Smoke... Message to Skip: This is football we are dealing with if you want to be mediocre in the other sports so be it. We need someone on LSU football level and not some second rate coach from a second rate school. The problem is skip is as inept as the coaches he is surrounding the dept with.
Gee nothing like posting only HALF of a thought/quote to make an out of context feaux point. Such feaux points fail to conjure up confident, cocksure belief in the credibility of the posters opinions. Miles said Certainly the portion left out in the original post puts a different light on the comment.
LOL...are you serious? The first "half" of the quote involves mistakes made that cannot be repeated, the second how he himself didn't expect them to be made. How does the first part of the quote change the fact that, as Guilbeau himself notes, Miles "still sounded shellshocked". Those aren't my words, but they are the words of a respected Louisiana journalist who was holding a tape recorder mere inches from Miles face. I think, if said journalist thought Miles "shellshocked", I'll go with his interpretation of his mindset and demeanor on Friday over your own.
I'm embarrassed for Miles after that comment--------I'm starting to agree with a few of you he's in way over his head!!! No where near ready for this level of competition. He just doesn't seem like a take charge kind of guy and that's what Nick Saban brought to our program.
I agree with these guys, I don't think the first part adds anything different to his continual inability to express himself in a logical manner. I just hope that he starts taking the media speaking classes that the players take (at least under Saban they did)
Bingo! We all know the guy has a hard time speaking sometimes... but I do think he's in over his head as well...
