If he would have blown a gasket on every bad call, I bet that the interference would not have been overturned.
Today was the first time in a long time I wished Saban was still our coach, for the pure entertainment factor of him ripping the heart out of the ref who overturned that interference call :hihi:
All the news broadcasters are bringing up that play....how could the refs announce a PI to the crowd, then take it back in 5 secs. We would've had the ball on the 1yd line with a first and goal.
I think we were out tricked in this game in several different ways. 1) Refs 2) AU trick plays 3) LSU trick plays that I'm still waiting on?
Why was the PI announced if a field official saw the tip? If a field official saw the tip shouldn't he have had a conference with the official that threw the flag? Did anybody see a conference after it was announced with an official coming over to the lead ref to say it was tipped? I'm wondering if upstairs officials reviewed the play and radioed the field officials that it was tipped. That is what it seemed like to me. If this is the case, can that be done with penalties? If they did review it in the box, why didn't they see the tackle or grab on Early before the tip if they looked at it that close. Anyway, we can b!tch but JR could've thrown it better and it would've been a TD. This game really hurt.
I'm pretty sure the ball was tipped, but that should not have mattered because the interfernce occured before the ball was tipped!:angryfire
If nothing else, it was defensive holding. By their logic. One defender could tackle a receiver and another defender could stand there and tip the ball. All within the rules......
Maybe you need to rewatch the game. I saw Miles blow a gasket many times over the out of bounds hits. And I saw him shout from the sidelines that JMarc should have thrown the ball instead of hold onto it.
I am not talking about hollaring at JR, he is already on our side. Just watch Meyer he eats the refs lunch.
