I just wish someone would name a better choice for HC...something that makes sense. I hear a lot of Spurrier, but come on. Dude will be retiring in a very few years. DownOnTheBayou Spurrier in '08!:rolleye33: Mangino? Not after tonight, I guess.:nope: Saban? Puhleeze. Why? So we can count on averaging 3 losses a year instead of 2? Peterson? Why? Because he beat a ranked team once? Schiano? Why? Because he had a decent year in an overrated conference one time? Who? Someone PLEASE tell me who? Did F$U run Bowden out of town in the 80's and 90's before he finally won an NC? Did UF run Spurrier out of town before he won an NC? (The ONE that he did win...he must've "underachieved" all those other years) If we're gonna have all these stupid threads about how terrible of a 32-6 coach we have, who's lost ONE game to an unranked team...that will be ranked tomorrow...then give a friggin' solution. Some of ya'll are absolutely delusional sometimes.:rolleye33:
They only remember ONE year...2003. They don't remember 2002 at all...OR 2004. Selective memory is a wonderful thing, I guess.
Funny, they're not winning them: BCS National Champions by Conference ACC Florida St. Miami Big Ten Ohio St. Big Twelve Texas Oklahoma SEC Florida LSU Tennessee PAC 10 USC As for as our offensive problems in the first half, they've had those problems all year and considering our talent, that points to the coach.
What year did Miami leave the Big East? Just trying to remember if they won their title as a member of the Big east, or ACC.
So, name the replacement...PLEASE. Make me a believer, man. (I already know your answer...and I'm NOT a believer):nope:
Why can't someone criticize the coach without being called an idiot? I love Les and hope he stays, but we were a few plays away from a few more losses. Do you disagree? Byrd doesn't make the catch of his lifetime? Hester Doesn't convert a 4th? All I am saying is that someone questioning the coach doesn't make them a fairweather fan, you calling them an idiot doesn't make you a better fan. I hope Les stays, and Pellini learns to blitz, but if Les does decide to go, then I hope we hire a HC who can identify and surround himself with great coordinators, can recruit winners, not just great players, and can handle the pressure of being an SEC coach. Who is that? Les seems like he fits all those descriptions I hope we make him a very good offer.
We have some the best fans in the country and any team has fair weather fans. Unless you have thousands of posts your comment here is always met with animosity. Les fell into the best coaching situation in the country. He was full of talent when he got here (Thanks Saban) and did a fair job. What he never accomplished was getting the respect that he needed. We were NEVER a national championship team in 2007. We were fortunate to win the close games we did win and LM has been winning because he has been riding Saban's recruiting bus. A championship team has a leader---who is ours this year. FLYNN, DORSEY, HESTER, who!!! all the players i named are good but not great!!! Flynn made some good plays and won some games but his consistency is lacking. A championship quarterback doesn't float pass after pass-----did his receiver drop some---YES---and as for coaching. If i'm the coach and my QB is struggling---I pull his arse----find out what's going on---try to correct the problem---put Perriloux in and see what he does for 1 freakin series. If he does well i alternate (remember that) and perhaps play him depending on his performance-----There is no reason LSU should lose to an unranked team at the end of the season in Tiger Stadium---but we did and I blame PELLINI first----MILES second----and lastly the players----they played with experience and skill but forgot how to play with their hearts and that would have won the game.
