http://www.orangepower.com/showthread.php?t=10152 That's all I could find, anyone seen anything else? I guess 2M/yr is fair...it's a bit more than I thought he'd get, but he is jumping into a pressure cooker.
2 million a year is more ridiculous than fair... this guy has never won his division, much less his conference... I would think that his contract would have been more like 8.25/6 yrs. with a 2-3 million buyout and incentives.
At this point, and I am ashamed to say it... I am jealous of Texas and Mack... at least they all stand behind him and he wins games pretty regularly... I would take someone like that automatic... may not win NC every year but you know they have been in great bowl game for along time and have alot to be proud about while we have resorted to hiring a new coach every 3, 4, or 5 years... we got to taste what it felt like to be an 'elite' program like Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, OU, FSU, Miami... now If we arent careful we are back to mediocrity. Maybe I am wrong to be jealous of the stoops, carrolls, browns, carrs, paternos, bowdens, etc... but I just want a good coach that loves LSU and will win game year in and year out... I don't want NC every year and nor do I expect them, but what I do want is to be a top 10 team and stuff of 'legend' like the aforementioned programs.
Does anybody know anything about Miles' buyout clause w/ Okie State? Are there any anticipated difficulties there? Remember DiNardo - "It's OK...I'll handle it" - all the while process servers are beating down his door w/ subpoenas and summons filed by Vandy's lawyers.
From what I understand, Miles was just extended through 2011. And not one word from the national press like Petrino had to deal with. I guess they figured that Southern Cal wouldn't be unhappy to see LSU drop the quality of their coaching staff.
Well Brown didn't come to Texas as a national powerhouse. He had a good solid record at UNC, and in the end he had a couple of really good back to back seasons. Before his last two years, his record was comparable to Miles' in a weaker conference (theoretically). When his talent level jumped exponentially at Texas, so did his winning percentage. Saban's was very similar...and hell, maybe Miles will be the same.
but he wins 9-10 games a season automatic... gets screwed b/c of OU...all I am saying is I want a loyal coach that wins like that...
