He is 5th or 6th on the list at this point... doesn't have the balanced offense and stifling D we like to see...
Sorry, not LSU material, but UK Sorry, he has Kentucky ties and really wants to get back to Lexington. I am predicting if Brooks does not get it done, look for the air raid to return to Lexington. By the way, he was our OC during the Couch years if you are wondering. A lot of the fan base in Lexington want him back in a bad way. Barnhardt, are you listening?
As long as he leaves the BIG XII, I'm happy That would be awesome to see him in the SEC, you guys would have to deal with him then.
how did I not remember that? jeez. And yes, i think a bottom tier SEC school would be where he starts his assault at proving his schemes can work against top schools before someone else gives him a chance. do you think he'd succeed there and would it be the proper place to judge him?
Yes, he is a marked man Man, his stock has risen after tonight! After Mumme was canned, he wanted the job, but Ivey (AD at time) promoted Morris. My, how things would be if Leach is coaching UK. I hope he is still around when Brooks fails!
IMHO, he already proved that his offenses at least could be successful. He needs to prove that he can get a defensive coordinator worth his salt for me to want to give him a shot as a HC.............
Hal Mumme protege ... Red Raider FB is exciting and quick paced His QBs own the NCAA passing records ... Shame LSU has track stars on the FB team with WORLD CLASS SPEED and LSU can't get the ball to them :dis: Balanced he ain't ... but what's more important ... potent and putting up 45-50 points per game or not so potent but balanced and scoring below 30 per game Forrest Gump could answer that one The guy is a proven recruiter ... but one could say Texas' cup overrunneth. So does LA. The Gripe comes with Leach's Defense ... I'm sure Leach would love to step into LSU's system and continue their great work and schemes ... If LSU could get a top notch DC to go with Leach ... therein lies a catch 22 ... The Top Notch DC (NFL Exp) would want head coach money ... Using the current DC (Muschamp) and Leach would be a gamble ... The question is: Is Muschamp ready to stand on his own two feet If the answer is yes ... then Leach would be a very good choice I could just imagine a Leach offense scoring and roaring through the SEC with a patented LSU stifling dee ... Mike Leach's head coaching career at Tech over 5 years ... Kentucky head coach Hal Mumme kept Leach under his wing from 1989-98 at Iowa Wesleyan, Valdosta and Kentucky. Oklahoma's Bob Stoops was the only other head coach to hire Leach in 10 years.                   Plus I love it that Texas Tech is stomping a mudhole in Cal's azz 45-24 :hihi:                    LSU could get Mike Leach very cheap ... and with some good $$$ on the right DC (or maybe even Muschamp) ... things would get really exciting around here
