Seger hasnt put anything "new" out in over 20 years...

He had some GREAT music too.

Not liking the beatles is like not seeing star wars... ever...

my wife is one of those people though.

She has never seen ANY of the star wars, nor has liked or really even listened to the beatles (or the stones for that matter).

I think she is weird. but who am I to call anyone weird? haha...

I like Seger. I like the beatles (especially the older stuff they put out)

I like a lot of stones stuff, yet hate mick jagger. he is a douchebagasaurus.

the new album is proof of this.

I wish they could just fade into "exile", respectfully instead of keep putting out crappy wattered down old man rock.

you guys had your time. let it go. if the beatles were still together today, I would say the same thing about them.

Im sure Lennon would be getting on everyone's nerves in a jane fonda like way..

    just my opinion...

Sweet. I'll just take a spot right in between homophobia and social anxiety disorder.

No, I'm not joking. And yes, I've listened to most of the Stones' stuff all the way thru, and while I'll admit that I may have been unduly harsh in saying they suck, I've just never been all that impressed. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I completely agree. I don't get the obsessions with them, Aerosmith, or the Beetles. I guess I probably never will being as I wasn't around when they first got started. But there are people my age and younger that beat off to the Beetles regularly. Not sure what that's all about.

This reminds me, when I hear those first 3 notes of 'Start Me Up' at sporting events (ones I see on TV), I just want to punch somebody. Let it goooooo.

After perusing this incredibly great thread, I think we can all agree on a few points. Please see below:

    1. The Rolling Stones are way past their prime, and not very good anymore.
    2. Mick Jagger is remarkably gay and even dumber.
    3. So's David Bowie (the gay part, anyway.)
    4. Bob Seger, while not exactly Chopin, was good and left when he knew his time was up.
    5. The Stones, while not exactly Seger, have no clue that they're irrelevant, dated, and just plain boring. And even worse, some people don't care and continue to line their pockets with cash for KY lube , heroin money and Viagra for young boys.
    6. The Beatles still inspire legions of fans for no apparent reason other than they seem complex (until compared to classical music, then they seem like musical Neanderthals.)
    7. Guns 'N' Roses had it right all along.
I'm glad that after all of these posts, we can at least agree on seven things. Good work guys.

    OK...

But, the Stones, while irrelavent, dated, and boring will be one of the highest grossing tours of the year. must be doing something right.

GnR was good until Axl got a huge ego and recorded the Use Your Illusion albums followed by the Spaghetti Incident. Of the 30 songs on the Use Your Illusion CDs, only about 5-6 are decent.
