I just checked out www.spartantailgate.com to see whether they're pulling for LSU to win or lose in the Sugar. They have a topic today specifically about just that topic. Here's a highlight:

"I'm more upset with LSU stealing our coach than Saban's decision to leave. Yes he was a money grubbing jerk, and yes WE stole Smith from Louuisville; but I see LSU and MSU on the same level (at least at that time). Louisville to MSU is a jump up. MSU to LSU is a lateral.

So, my preference is for LSU to lose on a 4th and 25 play in quadruple overtime; and then 50 minutes later have Saban announce he's leaving for the Chicago Bears.

Sorry LSU - close but no cigar. Did someone steal your coach away from you by offering a ton of money? Boo hoo that's too bad. I can't imagine what THAT feels like. What goes around comes around."

In all fairness, about half of them do want to see LSU win.

Didn't Saban and their AD (or president/chancellor/somebody) not get along very well? I think they are mad at the wrong person.

I hope Michigan wins so MSU remains a second tier program in the state.

This is like good Karma for LSU. I remember reading on newspapers in East Lansing back in Dec 1999 regarding Nick Saban,"Don't let the door hit you on your way to Backwoods Loserana" They hated him while he was up there. Now they are crying for him leaving. This is just Good Karma.

BTW, read about the effects of the LA Tech loss. I was LMFAO

Remember when he came - they all came over here telling us he would be gone in 2 years, 3 years MAX.

Now, he's in his fourth year and he's not making any intimations about leaving.

But, if the Bears do come up with the $29 million/5 year deal (and LSU can't match it), I'll say, "THANKS Nick. You've left us in GREAT shape. The job you've done here deserves a grade of A+. Good Luck. I'll always pull for your teams - except when they play the Saints."

    If Saban Leaves

If Saban leaves I will be pissed - BUT I will also root for him where ever he goes. What he did here is almost impossible to measure. He rescued a dead giant. If we had gotten another looser coach we might be wishing for the good ole days of the Dinardo Weedeater Bowl.

The Spartans should be pissed. There are only a handfull of legendary coaches available. I think they let one go and we got him. I just hope that the powers that be at LSU do WHATEVER it takes to keep hime for as long as possible.

    Buid Sabanland.
    Pay him a ton.
    Respect his talent.
    Stay out of his way

    GEAUX SABAN!!!
