    Michigan fires Hoke

The University of Michigan has fired football head coach Brady Hoke, multiple media outlets are reporting.

After leading the Wolverines to 11 wins and a victory in the Sugar Bowl in his first season, Michigan saw their win total fall in each of his next three seasons, culminating in a five-win output in 2014 that caused them to miss their second bowl game in the last five years. Hoke's final record in Ann Arbor was 31-20, with the Wolverines going 6-12 in Hoke's final 18 games. Two of those victories came against non-BCS competition.

LSU head coach Les Miles is expected to be one of the top names that surfaces when the Wolverines begin their search to sign a new head coach. Miles, who both played at Michigan and later coached there, is in his 10th season at LSU.

The Wolverines, and interim athletic director Jim Hackett, will now pursue other options to replace Hoke. Some other names believed to be top targets for the job are former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh and Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops.

And so it begins. No way Big Game Bob goes to Michigan. Harbaugh would have to take a pay cut from what he can make either with the 49ers or some other pro team. While I really don't think Les will take the job you never know what goes though his head. When somebody once asked Bear Bryant why he left A&M to take the Alabama job he said, "When Mama calls you come." Maybe Les considers Meecheegan his Mama.

Did you always come the first time your mama called? Look, I don't really want Les to leave. I just want him to leave the offense up to Cameron and keep his hands off that and clock management.

Michigan doesn't want Les, its the media who throws his name in the hat because of his history with the university. No big name school wants Les Miles as their coach. And the smaller ones who would, can't afford him. LSU is stuck with Miles until he screws the pooch majorily with losing seasons, if a new AD with any sense comes in and wants to make a change, or Leslie decides to hang up the whistle. Let's just hope he doesn't get another raise and contract extension. And if the day does finally come, that Alleva isnt the guy heading the search. Fingers crossed!
