according to CollegeFootballNews.com's bowl projections, which include a matchup between OU and LSU, Michigan has already accepted a bid to the Rose Bowl. I know there had been some debate here whether or not Michigan did this, but it appears as though they have. My question is, Is it possible once you've accepted a bid to one bowl to go to another, even if somehow Michigan makes it to #2 in the final BCS poll?
I doubt you could officially accept a bid from a BCS bowl. As long as Michigan isnt #2 in the BCS they will go to the Rose Bowl though. It all depends on who gets first pick after the Sugar take #1 and #2. If someone else who has a pcik before the Rose could likely take Michigan if they wanted to do so.
Trust me, I watched the replay last night on SportsCenter...They were extended a bid by the Rose Bowl rep, and they accepted with the trophy in their hands... The guy that was on stage with him (the player), said, "We'd be happy to accept!"
It was a conditional acceptance. If they are #2 in the BCS they will be in New Orleans, not Pasadena.
correct .. I saw the whole thing on ESPN News and the Rose Bowl guy does mention the fact that UM could go Sugar . .
