    Miami's Pata Shot To Death

    University of Miami defensive tackle Bryan Pata was shot and killed Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Miami, Miami-Dade County police said. Police had no other details. Pata, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound senior, is from Miami.

    That is terrible. It sucks to see young men get robbed of the rest of their lives. I feel bad for the kid's family and teammates. I just hope the story doesn't get lopped into the "Decline of the 'Canes dynasty" outside the lines type of heap...It is surely another blow to the Hurricane nation, but on its own it is much more tragic then any story related to football could ever be.

    very true, not to mention that his family members are shattered right now. they are the ones that need comfort now. my prayers go out to them.

    sad news...dont know if its true but someone said he might of been shot by a policeman?

    The story on ESPN.com says that the police have ruled it a homicide.
