it is self published, he paid for this, and books that suck are often printed on demand. i dont think this guy actually has an editor or actually sold his book to barnes and noble. anyone could do this. you could publish blank pages and get it listed there i think. and there is no way that book is physically on the shelf anywhere.

he used "iuniverse". they are a vanity publisher. you pay then, they print out 30 copies, and you give them to your friends. i wouldnt be suprised if his book has never been read by anyone but him.

There are two reasons to self-publish.

    1. Vanity -- The book is of no general commercial appeal and no publisher , distributor, or bookseller is interested. So it's self published to provide the author with some copies for his friends and his ego. They never make money. Many biographies and bad novels are self published and all 250 copies end up in someone's garage.

    2. Control -- The book is intended for a small niche audience that the author can reach himself, so he acts as publisher, distributor and seller and can reap 100% of the sale price instead of 10%. Many specialty books for collectors are self-published. Some of these authors do very well indeed. You have to know your niche.

Posted August 20, 2009, 2:08 PM EST: There are many issues the author pointed out that have become true. The author has a keen sense of predicting the future political climate. Great job by the author. We need more of this kind of writing to keep citizens abreast of politics.
