during last nights Ga-Ala game. Ga was lining up for their game winning TD and Mike Patrick, out of literlly nowhere, says "What is Britney Spears doing with her career?" Did anyone hear this? So Todd Blackledge was like...'What?" What does she have anything to do with anything right now?" It was soooo strange. Almost like the guy had just started in on an eight-ball or something. You must listent to this\ (link below).A few weeks ago he said that Theismann was going to 'munch on box' during a NFL telecast. Hiliarious. http://awfulannouncing.blogspot.com/2007/09/mike-patrick-has-important-things-on.html
If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college. The second you hear it, your brain comes to a screeching halt.
Bwahahahahaha....a couple of friends and I had JUST put it on this game after a few rounds of taking our minds off of football-ness, when the guy said this. We were perplexed/dumbfounded. Now, I guess I could maybe understand it if this were the LSU/USC NC game (she's from Louisiana, and well, Hollywood)....and if she was part of a halftime show (dear God, let's hope not).
I heard it today when I was watching the game on ESPN instant classics. He then proceeded to ask something like "I wonder if she likes football" It was odd.
Even Namath was sitting at home drunk watching his alma mater bout to lose and said ' what the **** is Patrick talking bout?
I was pretty befuddled by that comment as well. You could just tell that Blackledge had to do everything in his power to not say 'Dude, what the F#@( are you talking about?! Shut up and call the game!'
Some friends and I were drinking heavily and playing poker while watching/listening to the BAMA game and when Mike Patrick made that comment, you literally could have heard a pin drop. It took us all a few seconds to try and figure out where the comment came from. People will watch this game on ESPN classic as much for the insane Britney reference as for the lovely OT punch in the mouth GA delivered to BAMA
