Matt Mauck threw a 92 yd td pass tonight, it was a 5 yard slant on the left
side of the field, the wr broke a tackle and was ggggone!

Matt is currently 3rd on the depth chart right now, because Bradlee Van Pelt
has been playing like a guy in the zone.
This guy looks like John Elway out there, shifty and can run like theres no tomorrow, he also looks good passing the ball.

I guess that puts him ahead of Jason White in the depth chart.

Whats gets me here in Oklahoma. The past couple years i have heard about how great jason white is. I have heard it from friends , co employees , strangers , and any other okie you can think of . I always argued back saying Matt Mauck was the better QB of the two . Then most of em bring the stats and the heisman trophy up , my reply is anyone looks impressive beating up on a bunch of sorry teams from texas .

I remember seeing Mauck struggle BIG TIME in his pre-season game last year so it is great to see him get some positive PT

I wouldn't call mop up duty late in the 4th quarter positive PT. Matt has to step it up. Looks like VanPelt has the inside track on the backup QB spot.

I saw Van Pelt play a lot when he was in college. A great athlete, if not a polished passer, at CSU. I hope Mauck gets the back-up spot, but it won't be easy if Van Pelt has progressed like I've heard he has.

I used to love wathing Van Pelt in college, (not as much as Mauck), that guy has to have a twenty lb set, he played with the heart of Favre and Young. His passing skill were not anywhere close to NFL caliber, but you gotta love a guy that after making his pitch on the option was not afraid to throw a fullback like block on the pursuing linebacker.

I was impressed with Van Pelt back in his Colorado St. days. Big-bodied, QB with deceptive speed.

VanPelt looked good against the Texans. He threw the ball with a lot more zip and accuracy than I remember him throwing it at CSU. Of course, he's surrounded by a little better talent than he had at Ft. Collins. He comes from good stock. They interviewed his Dad during the game, Brad VanPelt, a former NFL linebacker with the Giants and Raiders in the 70s & 80s.
