I almost fell off my chair when I read that. Is this the first year this guy started following football? In other words, KSU didn't stop them or beat them, OU just loss. That the score happened to end up being 35-7 was just an accident; OU just had a bad day.
Turbo, you figured out why OU fans are the worst in the world. The other team never does well, it is just that OU has a bad day, that OU didn't do this or didn't do that, the players weren't up for the game, etc.,etc. They should change their name to Sorry Excuse U. They had more excuses than Ga. did after they lost the first game to us. However, unlike the OU fans, I didn't hear any OU player or coach making excuses. They Gave KSU credit for coming out and kicking their butts. The closest thing I heard to an excuse from them was that they failed to make some plays when they had the chances. The OU fans don't deserve the class program Bob Stoops has brought them. GEAUX TIGERS!!! 2003 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, GOT ONE? :lsug: :lsug: :lsug:
OU lucked out big time in 2001 OB FSU's star and 'go to' receiver , Marvin Minnis, was declared ineligible by school officials and mark Richt was too busy preparing for the Georgia HC position to make the necessary adjustments. Consequently, an excellent OU defense made the adjustemnts for a Minnis-less team and was able to dominate. I don't think OU will have that 'gift' in this game.
I also seem to remember that the receivers on FSU seem to have had a case of stone hands that night. I think they dropped about 15 passes. Right? GEAUX TIGERS !!!!!! 2003 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, GOT ONE?
A BIG difference is that OU still remembers what it was like being 7-5, coming off of 4 consecutive non-winning seasons. OU fans, coaches, and players know nothing is given to you by just showing up, you have to earn it on the field! FSU had been so good for so long that they thought OU was just a bump in the road. OU will not go into the game thiunking like that. now, maybe, had they beaten KSU, things might be a little different. That KSU loss made all of the difference in the world! Good luck! Boomer Sooner!!
There is a difference between being confident and being cocky. One is being disrespectful, the other is respectful of the opponent but knowing the capabilities of OUr team. You, of course, can judge me as you wish, but I think I have been very respectful of LSU. I think they are very deserving of their spot in the title game and, should LSU win, I will be very happy for all of you! Good luck, Boomer Sooner!!
OU's defense will show up, regardless. Words really don't need to be said about the obvious. OU has won more titles in my lifetime by playing great defense than most programs will ever hope to accomplish in three lifetimes. Don't be concerned, OU's defense will make its presence known, all day (night) long... Boomer Sooner!!
Don't make me into a Texas fan! There are no excuses for Ou losing that game, KSU out played them. I take it this is either the first time you have followed college football or you didn't watch the OU/KSU game. Either way, maybe you could qualify for the Mike Lupica School of Sports Journalism... Boomer Sooner!!
Re: OU lucked out big time in 2001 OB Oh yeah, Snoop Minnis would have made all the difference in the world! Now, you might have something on the Richt thing, similar to the distraction created by our DC leaving just a few weeks ago. I can't imagine what it would be like had M Stoops stuck around for the Sugar! Boomer Sooner!!
OU is better off wo M. Stoops than with him and trying to do both jobs---old and new. In the 2001 OB, it was clear that Richt 1) took OU too lightly and 2) made little effort to produce an effective game plan..
