right, that is why no religions at all should be in schools, except in classes that teach sociology or whatever where they are teaching how religions work so kids can understand society.

you guys fail to understand that atheists do not want atheism advanced in schools. they want neutrality.

 

They are not giving special consideration to the minority they just don't let the majority force laws down the public throat. By interpreting laws and making sure they are just the supreme court acts as a check against the majority in congress.

If you want to get into an arguement of symantecs then sure it is never stated that the supreme court defends the minority, but in action that is what they do. They are the only thing that keeps a bunch of yahoos in congress from out lawing being a fag or an athiest. They hold the final check against the majority's laws.

 

I fully understand that and have no problem with that. My problem is there is not a level playing field. Take the following example, I have no problem with Christmas being removed, but take out the Hannukah and Kwanzaa references, sing Frosty the Snowman and Jingle Bells and go home if you want to have a program. There are numerous examples of this type of thing going on. All I am looking for is equal treatment for all, as you are.

I agree that hannaukah references have no business in a school play. I don't have a clue what Kawanzaa is so I have no opinion.
