Purple and Gold is reporting Hill would be no better than a 4th round draft pick.

Saban has to be urging him to return no doubt.

I think he will come to his senses and stay.

    I pity the SEC.

There's no way Hill would only be a 4th rounder. He doesn't have a great burst for a DE and he's a little raw, but his size and power alone should make him at least a late second round consideration.

However, I agree that he should stay. The way he played in the Sugar Bowl makes me think that he's finally seen the light and is starting to realize what a dominant player he could be.

Other reports have him late 2nd or early 3rd.

Given all these reports, it makes no sense for him to leave now.

I will take a guess that Marquis Hill will be an NFL defensive tackle rather than an end. He does not have a real good burst on the pass rush, as you pointed out, and for anyone who saw Peyton Manning shred the Chiefs defense, which had no pass rush, you can see why you have to have DEs who can put some quick heat on the QB.

Then there is the question of why LSU never played him at DT. If he plays high, he won't make it there either.

I wouldn't mind him coming back of course. :)

I agree that Hill is a phenominal player--but like most have said, he's a little "raw". Great potential though.

But I agree, another season in Baton Rouge will do nothing but help him prepare for a career in the NFL.

Does Hill have trouble in the classroom ? I'm trying to figure out why he would want to go now. It doesn't add up. He is developing very well as a player. Who knows. Whatever he decides I wish him well, he has played his heart out for the Tigers.

Well Clayton was always a 50-50 proposition IMO.

That was not a surprise. It made sense for him to leave. Marquise Hill needs to stay however to get that much better and hopefully an early 2nd or maybe late 1st round draft pick after his senior season. We are talking several million dollars difference over the length of whatever contract he would sign.

LSU has supposedly called a press conference for Hill tomorrow; that would lead me to believe he is gone.
