At halftime of VT/A&M. May says Pollack is in the 2nd echelon of defensive linemen. Albert says May is crazy, "sure, he doesn't have any sacks but he's got a motor. He never quits". Then they show the SC QB throwing a pass right into Pollacks gut and Albert gushes "Look at that interception!" Is Trev Albert really Southlink 02?
Against all that AMAZING competition that was BATTLE TESTED, and with all of those teams UNABLE to combat David Pollack and his AMAZING MOTOR....he's got all of How many sacks? I'll give you a hint.... <img src=http://www.eslkidstuff.com/images/zero.gif>
Just want to make sure I understand this arguement.... Sacks are the one and only determining factor in how good/bad a defensive lineman is?
Sacks are certainly not the only only criteria by which defensive linemen are measured. However, "presence" and "impact on the game" are both statistics that don't hold a hell of a lot of water with opposing team's fans.
Maybe it is just meaningless trash talk but a lot of the talk this week has been silly. Georgia is good. LSU is good. Pollack is good. Greene is good. Georgia's WR are still good without Gibson. Clayton is good. Lot's of good players on two good teams. Not too exciting for argument but it's the truth. May the best team win.
