sportscaster or whomever for CBS on the local radio today said LSU had to win to get in which is feasible then said Billy Packer didnt have us in and not even on the bubble or anyone doing whatever game it was. i don't buy that. then again, grant said rick "stanford" has done such a great job at MSU i guess they follow the SEC real closely but Grant is supposedly from LSU.
ESPN basketball guys (announcers and analysts alike) have also been saying that since LSU's best player Lloreda is out, that this will have an impact on the NCAA's decision to pick LSU as an at-large. If they are one and out, I do not think they get in. Teams like Washington and Maryland with worse records will get in, and deservedly so, since they are playing good ball coming down the stretch.
agree to an extent but to say LSU is not on the bubble at all means even if they win a game or 2 they are out. that is how clueless they seem to be. east coast bias reigns supreme. they finally had to give gonzaga credit this year.
Mark Grant is a director for CBS Sports. He directs NFL games and college basketball. Yes, he is an LSU alum.
You're trashing the guy for messing up a coach's name (one who coaches in Starkville, Mississippi at that) and for quoting what CBS "experts" are saying about LSU? He's not a journalist, he's a director. He's in charge of television broadcasts, making sure the right camera is on and the graphics are in the right place, etc. I didn't hear the interview you're talking about, but I've met the guy a few times and can safely say that he has more sports knowledge than the average internet poster and the average Baton Rouge sports radio host. Read your own post, Packer was the one with little regard for LSU.
nope you reread it.... he was agreeing with packer's sentiments and said he feels the same. he was inferring LSU belongs in the NIT regardless. Sorry I wasn't clear enough for you....now you know.
That's fine. Apparently a lot of people on this board feel that way, too. Personally, I'd like to see LSU get into the NCAA's and collect a paycheck. I have no delusions of them making a run or anything. That said, it's not hard to imagine people having little faith in a team that has one win in the past month. Losing to a fellow bubble team in South Carolina wouldn't help, either. And BTW, Mark Grant's got one of the best jobs on the planet. I'd kill for that job.
If Billy Packer had his way, he would give all the ACC teams in the tourney double elimination. That guy is the biggest ACC hyper there is.
