http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/stewart_mandel/09/07/weekend.pickoff2/index.html Good comments about the LSU/Tech game. I'm not sure about his upset special.
I would have to pull for an SEC team in an OOC game, but the ensuing meltdown at AU would provide weeks of entertainment
There are a lot of so called upset picks for USF over Aub. I think Auburn will win but it will be close. Alot of "experts" want to pick TCU over Texas to but most are going with Texas.
Me too. I gambled with them on the pics and really wanted to put Miami and Vandy too. Coach Shannon has Miami pumped up and a lot of "Teamsprit" going on and a chip on their shoulder but Oklahoma's speed last week was scary- imo, Oklahoma is the team flying under the radar while everyone is in disbelief about the two powderpuffs who fell last week. Not sure how much weight to give Bama in their strong showing last week......yet. Vandy is at home and put up some points last weekend too and the vegas line I saw was Bama -3.5 with the computers putting it at -1.60. Very doable but I just couldn't make myself pick Vandy against Nick/Bama after going 6-4 the first weekend. Here are my upset picks though: TCU Miami Vandy No way they can all happen- statistically- but we'll see. What would Bama be like if they lost to Vandy? :hihi:
I actually think most see Vandy as the favorite. Or at least an incredble chance of winning. My upset is Auburn murdering USF. Auburn will play well.
As you might already know, Vandy is my adopted college football team since I live here in Nashville. I have year round season tickets and a Commodore Club member. This game is Vandy's to lose. It might be a little high scoring. QB Nixson and Receiver Bennet are the real deal. QB Nixson is still green but much better then last year as a 1st year starter. He has to handle the blitz package he faces. Both these Vandy guys are from Bama and are really focused for this game. I would love nothing more then to see Vandy beat Saban. With that said I'm curious to see how Saban coaches Bama and how the players respond after watching him at LSU. Bama fans continue to call Vandy the worst team in the SEC. It will be interesting to see how Bama fans handle loosing to Vandy for the first time in about 20 years if Vandy wins. I'm always happy to see an East team beat up on one of our West rivals. It should be a fun game to watch.
If you get close enough to Saban at the Vandy game, slap a Geaux Tiger bumper sticker on the back of his hat. Go Vandy.
My upset special would definitely be TCU over UT; however, after the Horns played within 8 pts of losing to Arkansas St. last weekend, they'll probably be up to the task of playing well.
