I know you are all feeling the same way today, but I gotta share some observations.

First of all, the theme of this year for the players has been to play as champions, focus on the intangibles, and strive for perfection, no matter who the opponent. I still believe this, and I think the players could have won today.

I think the Florida coaches were a step or two ahead of our offensive and defensive gameplans. I love how our defense has blitzed teams like crazy this year, and I hope we don't stop. We do need to make sure we have coverages correctly assigned, though - I think the players got a little excited and had a few mental errors. The Florida gameplan anticipated these blitzes, though and made us pay on each of those errors.

On offense, I can't remember how many times I saw Mauck drop back for a pass and there were only 3 defensive players rushing him and his eyes were locked deep downfield. I kept wanting him to take off and make them pay for dropping everyone into coverage. Instead, he forced a lot of balls into coverage. Also, the few times the offense ran a quick hit to one of the WRs, it always seemed to go for a good gain - why not keep hurting them with this?

Anywayz, I hate that the Tigahs lost today, but I truly believe that they are a solid team and will have a great season.

Florida did seem to drop 7 or 8 in coverage a lot. Playing zone watching Mauck and breaking on his passes. We never adjusted.
Also on defense I noticed in an earlier game when Hunt went down we started to blow coverages. I know Saban runs a complex pass defense, but this is two years in a row where we seem to have only one person who call the correct coverages. After DJ quit last year or whatever he did we blew a lot of coverages as well.

Yeah, having Carey, Addai, and Hunt on the sidelines didn't make things any easier against a hungry Florida team.

Hey guys....not here to flame, just wanted to see what you all were saying bout the game. LSU just came out flat today. We needed this win BAD! I think you guys can get it together and will probably make it to Atlanta! Good luck for the rest of the season! :)
