If they don't take away every dime, he'll end up in a country club prison playing golf with Edwin Edwards and the hottest female prison guards you've ever seen. I'd rather see him sentenced to life in some third-world sh!thole on about $350 a year. Beans and cornbread, lice and bedbugs, crime and pestilence . . . that's the ticket.

I think he should be sentenced to be a butler for a year for each of the victims.

I hope they dig DEEP on this one. I have a feeling there was a bunch of money laundered out to friends and family before the shiat hit the fan.

    EDIT: "dig" I mean. Sorry.

He's trying to say that he personally did all of the illegal trading--177 Billion dollars worth. And that his affiliated brokerage, where wife Ruth, brother Peter, and sons Mark and Andrew work, were parts of his empire that were separate to his illegal activities and were "legitimate, profitable and successful."

Because Madoff pleaded guilty as charged, without any kind of deal with prosecutors, he is under no obligation to cooperate with them. With no trial, no witnesses can be made to testify. As a result, some legal experts have speculated that he is sacrificing himself to protect his wife, his family and friends.

I think the SEC will get to the bottom of this. They must.

i agree. i think his family was helping him. and the sec has to find out who and prosecute them, too.

too many people have been hurt by this. and not just people who lost their savings. a lot of charities that were funded by patrons that had money with madoff are having to fold. non-profits such as one that helped rehab excons and find them jobs so they could be functioning productive members of socitey instead of ending back up in jail.

the damage by this was far and wide and anyone involved needs to pay, big time.
