Okay, recently some jersey manufacturers decided to f'up the "Greatest Jerseys in All of College Football" by giving us "semi-stripes" instead of the complete purple and gold stripe around the shoulder. I realized that this seems to be a trend for all teams, for example the Indianapolis Colts. Now I see that Ole Miss, who have similiar stripes on their jerseys, all have complete, or near complete stripes. WTF???????????? Does anybody know who makes our jerseys vs. who makes theirs? I love our jerseys but HATE the semi-stripe. We should sue whoever the F*#k makes our jerseys. (I am not responsiple for any misstakes or typos in this post, as I am drunk)
Nike makes our jeseys if I'm not mistaken. And I'm pretty sure that they don't just make whatever jesey they (nike) wants without it being ordered by the school.
Yeah, but I don't think that we actually requested that the stripe to be suddenly stopped halfway down. I mean, it looks like a mentally challenged person made it. I think that it was made the way it is, because for some reason it is makes it easier for the manufacturer to do it that way. Like I said, it is not just us, look at the Colts.
It seems like our "new" stripes have come with Saban. At first I thought it was just used by players who wanted to keep the basic design to someone looking down on the field but wanted to try to get their jersey as tight as possible and their sleeves as short as possible to have nothing to grab (like Toefield), but now it is on most. I would much rather go back to the stripes like Ole Miss has. It seems like we could use the old stripes, make all jerseys look consistant, and still make the jerseys hard to grab.
Yeah, but it seems like all teams, with the exception of Ole Miss, is going to the "semi-stripe". I don't think Saban had anything to do with it. And I agree with you, first it seemed like only a few players had. Now, only a few don't.
Comfortable jersies These were made that way for the players comfort. There were some complaints by some of the players about the fit of the old stripe. Frankly, I don't care if they look like golfers, just keep winning! :geaux:
I noticed this too. Nike makes Ole Miss jersies. I also noticed that the Vikings white jersies have to full stripes. Personally, I love that style and wish that LSU would get the full stripes.
Ill second what tigerdale said it is for the comfort for the players which is far more important than looks i remeber reading about this a while back but i forgot where the link was
Since when did a bunch of sports fans become such fashion police? Purple jerseys vs White White helmets vs Yellow now it's Full stripes vs Semi stripes??!?!? WHO CARES!!!! As long as the uni's remain somewhat what they traditionally have been the past 15-20 years (seeing as THOSE were the unis that were nominated as "best in college football"), then WHY do we really care?!?!?! Sheesh! Is THIS what bye weeks produces in terms of conversation??? ....I hope this week passes by quickly then!
So the players can bench 300+ lbs, but can't move against some fabric??? I don't buy it. It looks retarded.
