Assuming Georgia loses, it's #5 at least and possibly as high as #4, if Penn St. gets upset tomorrow night. Barring a total blowout, the loser of the Rose Bowl falls to #3 (assumes Penn St win), with OSU staying at 4 and Penn St. rising to 2. Either way, that's the second #5 final poll finish in three years. Pretty solid, I'd say!
Skip Bertman announced after the game that this was the senior class was the winningest class in LSU football history. Congratulations Guys!!!
Depends on how far ND drops, you know the media drools over them. Also does WV leap frog us or not. Either way LSU ends up ranked very very high, hopefully like you said in the top 5.
I hope not but they are a one loss team and beat a team ranked higher than the team we beat in the bowl. They also beat a team in their bowl that beat us badly two weeks ago so you never know. I really hope not but I definitely wouldn't say no way.
only way lsu makes the top 5 is if FSU beat Penn. st. In this case LSU gets the #4 spot behind USC/UT winner/loser, and OSU, with west virginia at the #5 spot. If Penn St. wins, i believe it will be USC/UT winner/loser, Penn St., OSU, WVU, then LSU at #6. WIth only one loss, WVU will be given the #5 spot either way.
I am sorry I am not as optimistic as some. I will try to make this post with my head and not my heart. I will go on a limb an predict what I feel will be the final poll. 1.Texas 2.USC 3.Penn State 4.Ohio State 5.LSU 6.W. Virginia 7.Virginia Tech 8. Alabama 9. TCU 10. Florida, UCLA or Oregon?
Whatever ranking we'll end up with, it's good to know that we're going to be the highest ranking SEC team! :thumb: But I think we're going to be no higher than 5th.
So far 5 top ten teams have lost their bowl games. Only LSU and Ohio State have a W. If FSU pulls an upset, then I would say we are a solid top 5. :geauxtige
What's really gonna help us is...... 40-3. The voters will see that score and it'll help our ranking a crap load. LSU should end up 5th barely ahead of WV.
