Alright, I've got a solution for the SEC and LSU...

A few weeks ago, the SEC's athletic directors decided to determine the East representative in the SEC Championship Game by using the BCS rankings. This was an arbitrary decision that, while relatively fair, was also unprecedented in that it was made in-season.

The SEC's athletic directors should have another talk and scrap the "new" plan for its arbitrary nature and for the circumstances that are developing.

The athletic directors should vote to send either Tennessee or Florida to the SEC Championship Game.

First, this would preserve LSU's quality win over Georgia, tremendously improving LSU's opportunity to reach the Sugar Bowl and compete for the National Championship.

Second, it keeps Georgia as a very attractive at-large BCS option.

If Florida is selected, then LSU would have a chance to avenge its only loss and more legitimately stake its claim for the Sugar Bowl. Whereas Cal has the advantage over USC, LSU could even up its record with Florida and eliminate the Gators' advantage.

If Tennessee is selected, then LSU will have faced all three of the co-champions of the other division and will have played every team of consequence in the conference. Whereas USC will miss PAC-10 #3 Oregon, LSU will have defeated each of the top 8 teams in the SEC.

Additionally, should LSU lose to Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game, then Tennessee would get the automatic bid and Georgia's quality win over Tennessee (currently worth -0.3 points) would improve, enhancing Georgia's at-large chances and the possibility of two SEC teams in the BCS.

The decision to send Tennessee or Florida should be done in the interest of the conference and to protect the interest of conference teams (particularly LSU, in this case).

    Crazy?? Like a fox.

I think that the tie should be broken by selecting the team that didn't face the division winner from the other side. If the division winner on the other side faced two of the three in a tie, the third team goes to the SECCG. If the division winner on the other side faced only one of three, then use head to head between the other two. I guess mathematically, it is possible to have a three way tie where none or all three of the teams faced the champ on the other side. In that case use rock paper scissors.

Well, when the SEC guys caem up with this new system they were banking on the Tigers playing Florida for the SEC because they thought Fla would end up behind Georgia in the BCS standings. Tennessee threw a wrench in the whole thing when they beat Miami, it left them behind Georgia in the BCS rather than Florida. We need a Kentucky win this weekend.

Are YOU strapping on a helmet and taking the field against
Arkansas, Friday? If not, then don't worry about it. Coach Saban will have his team ready to play, and nothing posted on an internet board will change that.

My thoughts exactly. As long as the fans aren't complacent like they seemed for the uf game, we'll be ok.
