In the 4 years that I have been going to a game as an LSU student, I don't think any of them have been as crucial as the game yesterday. With the entire nation watching and LSU fans everywhere desperately wanting a win, the pressure was definitely on LSU to pick up the win. Something happened yesterday that I had never seen before. After the 85-yard screen pass from Greene the crowd was silent for a moment and then started to chant LSU. It was unbelievable. Past crowds would have booed an LSU team that gave up a studid touchdown to let the team tie the game up. I would never try to take anything away from the players or coaches of LSU but yesterday I couldn't help but feeling that just maybe the crowd had helped keep the players morale up throughout the game and push them to victory. It was an awesome day and I cannot wait until next weekend for State and then Oct. 11th when the Gators come to town. GEAUX TIGERS!!
I believe it was Marcus Spears that stated that exact same thing, Lsufan9. He said at one point, you could feel the vibrations in his stomach (or perhaps he was hungry? )--but he DID say that it was so difficult to hear defensive audibles because of the noise...a problem, he didn't mind I'm sure.
That LSU chant after the Georgia TD was awesome. You could hear it on TV but it was nothing like it was being there.
