If you take away UGA's points from our turnovers(14) and we keep the TD that was called back due to a holding penalty; we win 21-20.:angryfire It would be even a bigger margin of victory for us without other bonehead mistakes:dis:
Actually they scored 21 points off turnovers. 1 INT from JR led to a TD, the blocked punt, and the 1 INT from MF. The turnovers killed us and gave UGA the momentum in the first half and allowed them to seal it in the 2nd half. The performance in the 1st halves of games by the offense has been down right dismal. Unless it was a pitiful team, we didn't put points on the board. The offense has squeeked through the season on the backs of the defense because the offense was not coached at practice or at game time to live up to the potential. DId you notice that DJ Shockley only completed 6 passes???:cuss: How do you lose a game when your opponent completes 6 passes?:angryfire Despite the turnovers, the offense should've been able to come back from some of those. The defense has been superb and helped the offense, so why can't the offense help the defense out. It comes down to coaching. The offense has been coached poorly in many aspects. The true brightspot on offense that has been improved has been the development of JR and Addai looked good. The OL performed well most of the season but the WR's were not coached well.
And if I were 15 years younger, 100 lbs lighter, could run a 4.4 forty and hit a big-league curveball, I'd be in center field for the Astros. Your point?
I just got off the phone with a good friend of mine who is a Georgia fan and didn't even realize until he said it that total offense was only split by 20 yds - 250 vs. 230. LSU also won a close margin in time of possession - 31 min vs 29 min. With Shockley at 6-12 the turnovers and blocked kick really were the entire difference in the game. It still doesn't un-piss me off though. If anyone else is up for a good old fashioned Sunday drunk, I recommend Skippy - sounds horrible but it's great. 8 beers to one 12oz limeaid concentrate and a heavy pour of whatever vodka or whiskey you have left.
I predicted a close game because both teams have very good defensive units. Georgia simply took advantage of field position opportunites when they were made available because of the turnovers. Coutu was also a plus. Tied an SEC record with his 51 yarder.
