have a melt down. LA Tech knows and understands that year in and out LSU is in a class all alone in the state of Louisiana. During the Hallman/DiNardo years, I have no doubt that Tech would probably have won a game or two. UF played the best game they could and LSU the worse and UF managed a 19-7 win. A win is a win. I believe LSU learned a valuable lesson from that game. We just dominated AU and that says a lot. UAB just scared the chit out of UGA. The UGA-UAB game will be the talk of the week. I really don't think there will be a let down. I think LSU will win big. If any of the top five play day games and lose, LSU will be pumped at the chance to move into the top five. There will not be 60 points scored by LSU that is not Saban’s style. He controls that by playing lots of people when its obvious we’re in total control of the game. It would not surprise me to see 45-10
The UGA-UAB game in reality was a scratch game. Georgia is simply trying to get healthy for the Florida game and kept several starters off the field for most of the game. For example, UGA played a walk-on at one guard spot and a true freshman at the other. Pollock played for less than a quarter. The Florida-Georgia game should determine who will win the SEC East. If Georgia wins, they would have to lose to both Auburn and Kentucky to be shut out of the SECCG. If Florida wins, Tennessee would have a good chance after beating Alabama this week. As I have said in other posts, most UGA fans think that Georgia is a year away. Richt is more concerned about another shot at the SEC title.
So you're saying Richt was willing to risk a non conference loss in order to be ready for Florida? Georgia never put that game away. There was never an opportunity to relax and say "OK, the win is clinched let's rest our starters". I think you are fooling yourself. Not saying UAB should have beat you, just that Ga was flat and nearly got beat with their best vs. your uninjured best.
I am saying that Georgia simply has too many injuries. Too many good players are either banged up pretty bad or are out for the season. If you look at the total list of players out, it is a very sad reality for us Georgia fans. When you have to start a true freshman at one guard slot and a walk-on at the other guard slot...etc...etc... Richt knows that with the injuries that the team has sustained, a NC is almost out of the question. This is the latest bad news: http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/102703/dog_20031027043.shtml Richt is going to try to salvage an SEC East title.
