I don't know about much better because their defense has always been pretty solid. I could see it being like us against Vandy but it won't be as easy for our offense. Maybe a 20-3 ordeal with a couple turnovers.

What concerns me about MSU is that they had a home game on a Thursday, and LSU was in Nashville on Saturday.

Our defense was solid, but would probably give up more points vs. Miss State. I don't see them mopping the field with us, though.

Our running game probably won't rack up over two hundred yards on the field, but I don't see us getting less than 125-150.

We know we can hit field goals. That was proven tonight.

The only part that will need to improve will be the passing game. It doesn't have to be drastic, just enough to keep Miss State from thinking run every time we line up on offense.

Yes, Miss State isn't Vanderbilt. But they're not Florida or Alabama, either.

It will be the same as every SEC game for us this year. Hold your breath. There will be no run away games except for our rent-a-wins and even then we might have issues. We need a new QB, OC, and O-line coach.

I don't get the fear for MSU. Some are acting like they're a major step up in competition from Vandy...and they just aren't...and haven't been in a long time. They've had decent D for a while, but their O sucks. When Mullen runs out of Crooms defensive players, they'll be even worse. That's right.

I don't know if MSU is going to be that nasty next weekend. Two things you have to consider either Auburn sucks and MSU is where they always are, or Auburn is pretty good and MSU might be good. Personally I don't know, but after the way our offense played tonight it should be interesting.

Here's what I took from that game. MSU has a pretty good defense, because I think AU has a pretty good offense, and they held them in check. BUT, MSU has a shetty offense, because AU has a shetty defense, and they held THEM in check. Neither team looked very good to me. Put the two together, and you'd have something.

I watched the Auburn/State game instead of the Saints and both of these teams play solid SEC football. The West may be a dogfight this year.

Only if you combine them. Do you disagree that AU has no defense and MSU has no offense?

***ETA-----I'm not saying EITHER is a pushover...but I just don't agree with the assessment that we will lose to MSU if we play like we did tonight. I also don't think we'll stay at the same level we were at in the first half. We've already shown improvement...DURING the game.

I don't think we'll lose to either team, but neither of them are pushovers or doormats like they have 2 or 3 of in the East Division. They have athletes and depth that Vandy did not possess.
