The Bama game from last year was on before it too... and if I have one observation to make b/w last years team and Saban's first it's that we had ****in insanely consistent and awesome defenses (no, really...) I'm going to miss that. I kind of forgot just HOW great they were while getting caught up with other things such as rankings, bowls, QBs, etc.... I hope Pelini's Ds are at least some what as good as Saban's... man LSUs potential is just sickening and pathetic... it should be illegal to be this great (well... for other teams, haha.)
Agreed, but just maybe our offense will be just as great under Les as our defense was under Saban. I would love to see our offense insanely great such as Heisman for a day game against Bama, towards the end of that season our offense was awesome. I also think about the Kentucky game under Dinardo, god i hate to bring up Dinardo and it was against Kentucky but our offense was awesome in that game. We shall see... :crystal:
Watch it, you'll stir up the Bammers with that no call on the pass interference (which wasn't as blatant as they would have you think) and how they would have won the game if the refs hadn't cheated them. Well, the refs and if Brodie hadn't been hurt...
You Auburnites sure do amuse me. If you think one call can't deflate a young team...it's not worth explaining. However, just to voice this one Bamafan's opinion briefly... While we held LSU to only 14 first downs, we only had 8 on our end. The LSU fans that I have talked with say the biggest play of the game was Spears hitting Pennington, causing a fumble that was picked up and returned for a touchdown giving the Tigers a 13-10 lead late in the third quarter. That, was a game breaker. However, the fumble recovered by Mark Anderson inside the LSU 10 where the infamous call was made could have easily made that game 17-6. With the defense we had on the field last year...that would have been a hard one to come back from. If there is one point we can agree on...SEC refs, generally, aren't that good. Even with the new "instant replay" rule that has been instituted, it wouldn't have changed the call. The ref that made that call is Blake Parks. He lives in Murphreesboro, TN. Now, one of my best friends is one of the managing editors of the newspaper now and is very, very familiar with Parks. Quite frankly, he disappears during the football season. Not surprising. What is surprising is it's very well known in those parts that he is a UT fan. Big one! Do you happen to recall the Florida vs Tennessee game last season where Florida got screwed on several calls? Same ref.
Re: You Auburnites sure do amuse me. My mailman's dog's friend knows the ref's cousins' daughter who says that he isn't a UT fan at all and that you are in fact related to him.
