1. Doesn't say who LSU is trying to get to replace the AU slot that would be left vacant.

    Game to moveLINK
  2. Does say Division 1-A team. Not that that means anything.
  3. Damnit. Now the SEC West is going to be decided way too early. This game could have interesting effects for both teams with it being played so early in the season. The team that losses could feel like they are already out of the SEC West race & not try as hard OR feel like they have to win every game in order to have a shot & win every game. The team that wins could feel like they are in the driver's seat & start slacking off. Just thinking outloud...

Either way, I don't like it.
  4. I feel it's extremely beneficial to LSU, given that we won't have successive road games at any point in the season. In fact, I think it negates a lot of the disadvantages the 2006 schedule created. I like it a lot.
  5. I thought I heard Songy and Scarbourough talking yesterday about possibly Northern Illinois filling the slot.
  6. I agree SF, but mebbe for a different reason ...... Tuberville's team are notoriously slow starters and are almost never ready for the first couple of games each season. IMO, this represents a disadvantage for my Tigers. :bncry:
  7. It doesn't say it's a done deal.
  8. Really? I think that's excellent news, if true. I've wanted LSU to schedule MAC teams (as they once did with Miami-O) for some time, as the MAC is one of the most respected mid-majors around.

Most MAC teams match up with Big Ten teams, though. I sincerely hope this news is true.
  9. Given Northern Illinois opens with Ohio State in 2006, they would be gluttens for punishment to also schedule LSU... but, perhaps they are!!
