When OSU has the ball: OSU knows a balanced attack against LSU is not likely ... they must attempt to run between the tackles ... but LSU will stuff the run early and Dwight Wright (5'9" -190, 4.4) will struggle finding any openings against the interior of the LSU D-line and running outside will not happen. I expect to see the LSU D-line push the OSU OL around on running plays. Wright poses the biggest threat out of the backfield on screens and short passes in the flat. With the run production neglibible, OSU will be forced to pass. I look for scripted quick crossing/timing patterns early in the game and quick short passes to the TE and WRs over the middle. The most common formations we will see involve OSU Wideouts bunched together in an attempt to avoid LSU tactics of "jamming" OSU wideouts within the first 5 yards of the line. Look for 2 receivers grouped together one one side every play early in the game. It won't stop LSU from jamming them at the line, but they may get some crossing passes completed and move the chains until LSU defensive adjustments are made ... that's when the fun begins and we can expect more Anderson completions ... to players in purple jerseys. Anderson is the biggest QB LSU will face this season. He's 6'6 and 245 and not very mobile ... to say the least ... but a great arm for the long ball but will not have the time for routes to develop to throw long. He has only 1 receiver returning with any experience. He will depend upon an OL with inexperience at tackle position for protection and LSU will attack there and create havoc early and often ... a blocking FB early is expected and shotgun formations on almost every play ... Plan B  I expect to see OSU throw 50 passes in the game ... about 20 completions for about 175 yards ... about 12-15 first downs ... look for about 6-7 sacks, 2-3 picks and 1 or 2 fumbles (four turnovers). Specialty teams: I am expecting LSU to apply heavy pressure against a very inexperienced kicking team for OSU ... look for a possible blocked punt and even a safety. LSU's status in the kicking game ... especially on punts ... yes they'll punt a few times ... especially when the game is out of reach and LSU begins subbing ... it should be fun to watch Fisher boom some punts after ironing out his punting problems and getting good hang time in practice. LSU's offensive attack ... will be fun to watch with the massive line hammering and systematically wearing out a weaker and undermanned OSU D-line. This will take about a half quarter after LSU toasts OSU's secondary a time or two when they stack the box to stop the run. I look for TE passes to loosen up the OSU dee ... an infrequent event in LSU FB this past year. Randall will stay within the confines of a very conservative game plan, one designed to use LSU's dominance in the trenches and one designed to begin with high percentage passes to build his confidence. Execution early will be the key in the game for the Tigers. If Randall and company execute their high percentage passing schemes early, they'll keep the chains moving and score. :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: :geaux: :lsug: Score by Quarter: 1st: LSU 10-3 2nd: LSU 19-3 3rd: LSU 26-3 4th: LSU 33-6 LSU 45 rushes for 300 yards ... This guy is dedicated to eliminating his picks Made the Manning camps ... Watched film all off season ... He'll take the sack first before he throws a bad pass ... he's got good vision at 6'6" ... but has trouble picking out a secondary receiver. Even still, LSU will get a couple of picks because of their speed and the ability to set traps for him once LSU makes their defensive adjustments. I expect a lot of OSU penalties for motion, holding and Intentional grounding, because this guy will get rid of the ball quickly and throw several away THE KEY: Loosen his fillings "EARLY"
Anderson is known for being an INT QB so if he throws 2-3 in one half....either he gets replaced or they try running.
Anderson is a big quarterback and not very mobile, which doesn't bode well for him. Since Saban has been at LSU, non-mobile quarterbacks don't fare very well against our defense, especially last year. David Greene, Jason White, Eli Manning, Dondrial Pinkins all took beatings last year from the Tiger defense because they couldn't run away from the pressure. Anderson, who is operating behind a relatively new offensive line, will fall victim to the pressure just like the rest.
For sure ... just amazing all the LSU folks who think Anderson will only throw 31-40 passes ... that means they'll show balance and run 31-40 times He threw 60 against USC with that world beater at tailback last year ... after USC stuffed the run Man, I don't see this team getting a single TD on LSU's Dee :dis: We'll see tomorrow night!
sounds like the typical Saban plan yet I think Jimbo has to get these boys at wideout some touches and will incorporate that as well. Gonna be a nice mix when its all said and done.
Yeah ... get the game salted ... and start throwing more to get those WRs experience ... Against all conservative rules ... but it makes sense and gives the wideouts, Randall and Russell experience against "TOP RANKED" secondaries Why not!!!!!!!!!!!
