I also want Michigan because it would give us our first victory over the program with the most wins all time. It would also make us 1-0 in the Rose Bowl, The Grandaddy of them All!

If not getting blown out by Oklahoma is a requirement to be a BCS team, I'm not sure if you can find more than two or three teams to fill the BCS this year. I know Texas has lost four in a row to Oklahoma, but this time around it has more to do with how good of a team Oklahoma is. This is one of the greatest teams in the history of college football.

Yes, I know the final result was ugly, but Texas mailed it in during the second half. I'm not saying that's a good quality, but whether the team lost by 52 or by 32 makes little difference in this case. They simply got demolished, and while it's embarassing, I think every top team aside from LSU would suffer the same fate.

If Texas doesn't deserve a BCS bid, the only alternative (with two losses) is Tennessee, and they're even less deserving. They were blown out at home by a Georgia team that's not nearly as good as Oklahoma. In a normal year, Texas probably wouldn't make the BCS with the season they've had, but there's more parity this year. They're as strong as any of the alternatives.

Nice try Domanick, but when you get b*tch slapped by 52, especially at the hands of your hated rival, there is not enough spin in the world to soften the blow. But, I guess the faggies can take some comfort in your attempt to downplay that turf mopping that the Sooners put on the 'Horns.

Who's trying to soften it? All I was saying was that whether it's 52, 62, 32 or 42, it's all the same. It's embarassing. It doesn't mean you just stop the season and quit. You move on and do the best you can, and Texas won their final six games and finished 10-2. They're as deserving as any of the alternatives.

I'm not trying to soften anything. It was one of the greatest ass-kickings in the history of college football. What else can I say?

But, you ARE trying to justify your team being worthy of a BCS bowl. If LSU were to lose the SECCG to a very good Georgia team and get shut out of a BCS bowl while UT rakes in $13MM after a season in which they did not even make their conference championship game it would be a crime. The fact that the 'Horns also lost a game by SEVEN TDs and a FG would only compound the injustice. LSU doesn't give up that many in 5 games.
And, don't even get me started on the ACC champion being given a BCS spot.

Well, first of all, LSU would have as strong a case against Ohio State as they would against Texas.

But, if that scenario happens, then I would agree that LSU was much more worthy of a BCS bowl than Texas. However, I fully expect LSU to roll Georgia this weekend, so I'm saying that Texas is worthy of a BCS bowl on the condition that LSU wins this weekend. If LSU were to somehow lose this game, I wouldn't have the same take.

hehe. If LSU were to play Texas head to head I'm sure we'd have more to argue about. ;)

But part of me doesn't want that - I have ties to both Texas and LSU so I cheer for both schools, and I hate having to cheer against the Tigers. Furthermore, based on how I've seen LSU play, I'm afraid you guys might light us up for 40 the way our defense has played against good competition. Granted, we'd put up some points on you guys the way our offense is playing, but I don't know if we could score 40, and we might have to against Clayton, Henderson and all the receivers LSU has.

would definitely be an entertaining game, though... I enjoyed all the hype for the one last year.

I would really like to play Michigan, then Ohio State, then Florida State (with SEC officials), and finally Texas.

I think Michigan and Texas would be the best games, while Ohio State and Florida State would be the best butt whippings.
