Good morning everyone and what a game. This is one of my first post and I just had to jot this down after hearing it 5 minutes ago on Sports Reporters. John Saunders was talking about the SC / Neb game and how SC thrives on going into other peoples houses and ruining their Saturdays. He ended with the comment about LSU. I'm no ESPN analysts but, I just happened to be in the stands last night and we have one solid looking team. What do you guys and gals think?:geauxtige

can't really worry about the polls right now - USC looked pretty good and ran the ball at will. It is still early. The baffling thing to me that I heard last night on a national show is analyst ranking OU ahead of LSU and USC.....who has OU played? Let me answer that.....a very bad North Texas team, an average Miami, Fl team, and a bad Utah St team. OU has shown nothing......Florida has more under the hood then OU does right now as far as I am concerned.

By the way, welcome to the board!

Actually it was Steven A Smith that made those comments about SC. It was Saunders that said no one thinks LSU is #1 after last night. I wouldn't sweat it too much. These guys do not know college football outside of the West Coast. USC gave up 31 points last night. LSU may not give that up all season total. Letting these talking heads get to you will take years off your life. One thing that is certain is that this season will play out. We can only hope it's in our favor.

doesn't matter who's no. 1 right now, it matters at the end of the season. Let ESPN and all the commentators keep kissing USC's butt, just like they did Oklahoma's in 2003.

If we keep winning, and focus on LSU's games and season, we can shut them all up at the end of the year.

The Munsbergers and Hersteigts are aggravating though.[IMG]

These two guys are just doing their jobs and creating debate and discussion in the college football world. Just last week Herbstreit and Corso, along with Fowler, were salivating over LSU's performance over VaTech and saying LSU is #1....this week was USC's chance to shine on the big stage and they delivered. Nebraska scored once the game was out of reach (42 - 10) if I recall...now, LSU does not allow the points in the cleanup like that, but USC ran for over 330 yards against a good Nebraska defense which is impressive. I doubt the polls change very much this week, SC might get a few first place votes back, but LSU was dominate enough to hold ground.

All LSU can do is take care of business and be in New Orleans for the BCS game.....right now, three weeks into the season, they do not need to worry about what the polls say, what ESPN/ABC says, or anyone else. Things have a way of working themselves out in the end.........let's sit back and enjoy the season.

I agree that is doesnt matter until the end, but this morning i read an article that said Usc's win over a great nebraska team was much more impressive than Lsu's home win over an overrated VT team. Why is it always that our wins are against overrated teams and their's are against great teams. I am just sick of hearing about the condoms and cant wait to shut them up.:crystal: :crystal: :crystal:

I tortured myself last night listening to Mushburger and Herbstreit

They are just two humans out of how many millions? True - they have a great job. If I lived in ACC country, I would probably favor an ACC team. Same with SEC, PAC 10, CUSA, WHATEVER................

    LSU SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:geauxtige

The other thing to remember is that the AP poll does not count in the BCS rankings anyway so it really doesn't matter what those nutjobs think. We do, however, have to worry about the Harris poll nutjobs, and the damn computers again. More than likely, after way play our schedule, our strength of schedule and beating of ranked teams is going to help us out. It may or may not jump us over USC, we'll have to see what the points look like with the first BCS poll comes out, but it should be more than enough to keep us at no. 2. That is all that really matters. I am far more concerned that we might get jumped by OU than I am whether or not we are behind USC.

To be honest, being the team that no one respects enough to think we have a chance against USC may be a better place for us as far as team motivation and focus anyway.

Sorry, but no... I was there, watching it live... Herby said USC was still #1, Corso took OU... Fowler didn't comment.. so NONE of them gave LSU their due...
