http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=/bcsroad/1205 This link ought to pump everyone up. Brad Edwards (BCS guru) says that if Syracuse and LSU wins tomorrow, LSU in the Sugar Bowl.
I know their is alot of things to be watching but i have to say my main focus is on LSU beating The Dogs. Thats where it all starts. I want the LSU TIGERS to be SEC Champs first and take care of business. Geaux Tigers
Agreed. I am even burnt out on the whole BCS hullabaloo. And I am the one who has thrown myself into it waist deep. At this point I am totally satisfied with an LSU win over Georgia. We can't control other outside forces. We know LSU deserves to be playing for the NC. That's all that counts. Losing to Georgia is unacceptable.
islstl, you have given all of us on Tigerforums great insight in to the BCS hullabaloo. Reading stuff on ESPN.com is nothing compared to what you (and some others) have posted on Tigerforums. The media would be well served reading some of your posts on the BCS. Thanks!!
Yes, LSU must take care of business in Atlanta before we can think about this. But I know my favorite teams tomorrow and I think this is how the games will come out. Syracuse will beat Notre Dame. Orangemen are playing to save Paul Pasqualoni's job. Willingham has already stated he's playing for next year, and while the Irish have played way over their heads of late, they are due a letdown and Syracuse is due some good luck. Boise State will beat Hawaii. Broncos own the WAC, Hawaii defense is too weak to stop them. Navy will beat Army. Navy hasn't won the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy in 20 years. They want it back BAD. Army is having the worst season in school history. They lose, they go 0-13, which will drag down Hawaii's SOS, which will drag down USC's SOS just a bit. And all of this will be unnecessary because, and I'm callin' it right now, Oregon State will pull the upset on USC. The Beaver's are a good team that can run the football, they will not be intimidated by SC. All the talk in LA is about how the Trojans are gonna smack Oklahoma in the mouth in New Orleans. They are not giving this game it's proper respect. Oregon State is 7-4, they are not a team you can beat by just showing up. Beavers will be ready to play, SC will not. SC is being set up for this one, just like we were set up right before the Florida game. And of course, Tigers maul Dawgs in Athens. ;-) But only because we are focused on what we have to do.
LOL, kudos to ISLSTL ... by the way ... wtf does islstl mean? But, we know syracuse will most likely lose and our fate rest on a damned AP/ESPN poll ... after all. And, if LSU doesn't get to #2 (the rout of GA is no question) we'll still know we are the BEST TEAM ... and this coach doesn't lose BIG GAMES. Our personnel match ANY of those in America ... we cannot be beaten with the BEST DEFENSE IN AMERICA ... GETTING BETTER ALL THE TIME. Speed, size, technique and coaching doesn't get better than LSU. Saban is the coach of the YEAR. CELEBRATE ALL WEEKEND LONG. IT'S PARTY TIME .... and when those yeller-stained missing toothed jawja hicks are running those meatsukrs at you anywhere ... just wink at 'em, purse your lips and blow 'em a Kiss of Death ... don't waste your lung power for yelling at the game
Here is my take on the K-State situation. I have contacted Rich Tellshow on this and he claims that the SOS positions do not change for LSU and USC in the case where Notre Dame, K-State and Boise State wins. In other words, LSU is still just 1 spot ahead of USC, and the .04 spread in SOS leaves LSU out of luck. So I am still waiting on Tejas to let me know which team Jerry Palm is projecting to be wedged in between LSU and USC in the SOS standings. If anybody else knows, please post it here and on my thread as well. Even if that scenario holds out, K-State will more than likely take 10th (or better) in the BCS (they are currently 15th). They would pass Georgia in the human polls, no doubt (currently 13th), and make major leaps in the computer polls. That would take away our needed QW of -.10 which is necessary to give LSU #2 in the BCS. So I don't see that panning out for us at all. Now to the Oregon State game. I projected a 10 percent chance of them winning this game. So I don't hold out much hope. Here is THE KEY to what could be the biggest upset in college football this year. USC thrives on big turnovers, many resulting in touchdowns for the D, that totally take the opponent out of the game physcologically. If Oregon State does not turn the ball over and can get a couple of key turnovers themselves, then we have us a great ball game in the making. Look for Oregon State to get past the first quarter without being down 21-0. If they stay in it, watch out. USC has not had to play but 1 game where the score was in doubt in the 4th quarter all year long. Guess what happened in that game. They lost to Cal!
Thanks for all the posts and threads islsti, you have given us for the last few weeks. Before you did it, I thought I had the BCS all figured out, and then I was totally confused, and all during this week I have been back and forth . . . but your threads have helped a lot. Of course right now the only thing that matters is LSU winning the SEC. I do know if the fans were playing in LA Sat, Ore St would win, SC fans are looking so far ahead they have threads titled "SC preseason #1 for 2004". I still hate resting our hopes on Syr, but this is the BCS, SOS, and a possible NC, so it is not that bad.
islstl is my initials and my company's initials. I wasn't aware of what kinds of creative screen names would be used in this forum. I would have come up with something much better, believe me.
